OUR PLANS OR HIS=20

By "Rebekah" the Bride=20

(Gen.3:1-6; Isa.45:24; 54:17; 64:6; 66:12; Rom.4:6; 5:17; 14:9;=20
Jn.15:16; 2 Cor.5:17-21; Jam.4:13-15; 1 Pet.2:24)

 *=20
So many of us make our plans we want to carry out;=20
Plans for our day, plans for our life, that we want brought about.=20
But when those plans get all fouled up by things beyond control,=20
Some of us really get upset if we can't reach our goal.=20
*=20
I know a man who had his day all planned out perfectly.=20
He had his schedule all laid out, a good planner was he.=20
But then his plans, they went awry, through no fault of his own.=20
His "best laid plans" for that one day away from him had flown.=20
*=20
An anger rose up in that man, directed at his wife;=20
For she's the one who'd fouled things up--unwittingly brought strife.=20
The reason this man got upset and played an angry role,=20
Was simply that on that one day he was not in control!=20
*=20
Are you like that, do you get mad when things don't go YOUR way?=20
You hate when things don't go as planned or if there's a delay?=20
Frustration, anger and complaints, on you they take their toll;=20
And all because your day--your life--is out of your control!=20
*=20
This problem that some suffer from, (let's face it, we all do),=20
Began in Eden way back when the devil tempted two=20
To be as gods, to take control, god-players they became.=20
And that sin was passed on to us: "controlling" is its name.=20
*=20
But on the cross of Calvary Christ Jesus took our place;=20
And for that sin--controlling sin--of the whole human race,=20
He took the punishment for that so we could be set free=20
From this need to control our lives and others' lives, you see.=20
*=20
So if you struggle with this sin of needing to control,=20
If you'd like to be free of it and from it be made whole,=20
Just focus your attention on the cross of Calvary;=20
And know that Jesus Christ died there, He died for you and me.=20
*=20
And then the Lord rose up again so we could have His life;=20
His righteous life to live in us to overcome this strife=20
That's caused in us--and those around--because of that old need=20
To have control, to have our way--we'll be set free, indeed.=20
*
And when we have God's righteousness living inside of us,=20
No longer will we need our own self righteousness to trust;=20
For that's control, we'll give that up and trust in His alone.=20
God's righteousness, maintained by Him, He makes our very own.=20
*=20
Sometimes I think that God designs days that don't go our way;=20
And if we'd see God's hand in it, I think that we would say:=20
"I made my plans, now they're fouled up, oh, Lord, please to me show=20
What You have planned, this day for me, let me be in Your flow.=20
*=20
And in God's plans, in our Lord's flow, there's joy beyond compare.=20
No anger, no frustration, no, there's no complaining there.=20
God's peace will flood all over us as we give up control=20
Of all our days, of our whole life--oh, what rest for our soul!=20
*=20
Believers, we can know God's truth as clearly as can be;=20
With scripture we can fill our minds but this we need to see:=20
That only when we give control of life to God each day,=20
Will truth become a part of us to bear fruit that will stay.=20
