As gods you shall be if you eat from the forbidden tree. As gods, you can control your life, just eat and you will see." *** And, as you know, Eve followed that advice, and Adam, too; To be as god's and take control of all that they would do. And then that attitude was passed to their descendants here Upon the earth, it was passed down to all, year after year. *** To have control of your own life seems good advice to take; To guide your life the way you want and all decisions make. But if it was such good advice that Satan gave back then, Why is this world in such a mess since that time way back when? *** There's hate and war and crime and strife, disease and sickness, too. Depression, suicide and fear--I'm listing just a few Of all the problems that we face as in this world we live, Because control of life on earth, to God, we do not give. *** We humans weren't designed by God to live life in control; And you should know that doing that, it really takes its toll. We were designed to let our lives on His strong shoulders rest. For some it takes a lifetime here to see God's way is best. *** The great sin of the human race is BEING IN CONTROL. All other sins are the result of that one, don't you know? Christ's broken body and His blood shed just for you and me Upon the cross, for humankind, provides forgiveness free. *** It really is a scary thing to give up that control.=20 Why would you want to give control to someone you don't know? Oh, God is good and God is love--just look at Calvary! You'll lose your fear of giving up when God's nature you see. *** To give control to One who loves you unconditionally, To One who is at peace with you, I think you will agree, It makes good sense to let God guide your life while on this earth. There's no one wiser than the Lord, His wisdom has great worth. *** The one who gave advice to Eve in Eden, don't you see, Still gives advice to us on earth--with him, please, don't agree! This world is still in such a mess, when will it ever know That being in control in life is not the way to go? *** The way of Satan seems so right, you hear so many say, "Just take control of your own life, it's really a good way." And for a season it seems right, but there's a price to pay. Somewhere along this path they took, there'll be a reckoning day. *** Let your Creator take control of your life, oh, please do. Christ's Lordship, just acknowledge now, He is the Lord, it's true.
