WHEN HARDSHIPS COME

By "Rebekah" the Bride

(Rom.8:28; Gal.6:7; Isa.53:5; Gen.37:23-36; 45:4-8; 50:19-20))

When hardships come to Christians, some say, "What have I done
to bring such hardships unto me, I feel so overcome?"
When these things come into our lives we focus in on us.
We look for answers in ourselves, in God we lose our trust.

Well, first there is this one thing on which we should be clear:
the punishment for all our sins God laid on One who's dear.=20
One who is very dear to Him, that One, it is His Son;
so hardships are not punishment He's caused on us to come.

Oh, yes, we can make choices to do things that are bad;
and then we reap what we have sown--oh, that can make us sad.
But even through bad choices, God wants to help us learn
to chose a better way to live--for guidance, to Him turn.

There was a man named Joseph on whom some hardships fell.
His brothers grabbed a hold of him and threw him in a well.
Then into slavery he was sold and then to prison sent;
but this was not God's punishment, it was not God's intent.

These hardships Joseph suffered, God finally took away;
and then, the Bible tells us, His brothers heard him say:
"You may have meant an evil to throw me in that well,
but God meant all your bad for good--it's this I want to tell."

God used the evil hardship that on this man did fall,
to bring about a good thing, a lesson for us all.
There was a famine coming, his family would have died.
Because of Joseph's hardship, they all were kept alive.

So if you feel like Joseph when he was in that well-
you've been unfairly treated or hardships on you fell-
you are not being punished for Christ took that on Him.
Know that from all your hardships, good can come out of them.

It tells us in the Bible, in Romans you will see,
that all things work together for good for you and me.
If we have love for Jesus, the promise is for us;
so when the hard times come your way, in His word put your trust.

I do not clearly understand why hardships come our way.
Are they from God, are we the cause, on others does blame lay?
I just know that the Bible says, and I believe it's so:
whatever comes will work for good if you love God, I know.
