It's what we should rely on; Oh, yes, we should, indeed! Our God has endless mercy; His mercy won't run out. But we must know we need it; Oh, yes, without a doubt. *** In God, we have our being. In Him, we move and live, Dependent on His mercy Our very breath to give. We really can do nothing Without Him, scriptures say. Although our eyes don't see Him, We need Him every day. *** This planet's in rebellion Against this God we need. So many fight against Him, Or run from Him with speed. He only wants to show us His mercy every day. When we reject His mercy, We push the Lord away. *** God only wants to love us, And show us He is kind. If we will look at Jesus, Then we will surely find That He shows us God's mercy, And that's our need so great: Restoring, reconciling, And offering love, not hate. *** We humans all are sinners In need of saving grace. There's just no one without sin In the whole human race. Yes, all have sinned and come short; This truth we need to see. Or else we will not know that=20 We need the Lord's mercy. *** God let His Son die for us, For the whole human race. "God was in Christ," the word says, And on Christ He did place The sins of every human Who's ever lived on earth; Not holding sins against them, And offering all new birth. *** Yes, offering all who choose it, Christ's Life to live within; A Life that is eternal; A Life that's free from sin. Not only just forgiven, But we're made righteous, too. God's righteousness inside us, What mercy! Oh, it's true! *** All of us need forgiveness; All of us need God's grace. Yes, all of us need mercy; This is a fact to face. If we'd be really humble With true humility, We'd say, "We must depend on The Lord for His mercy." *** Call on the Lord for mercy: "Oh, Lord, please save my soul! Oh, God, will You please heal me? Please make my body whole? Dear Lord, my life is messed up; Untangle it, please do!" God loves it when you want Him To give mercy to you. *** If you are self sufficient And you are in control, You'll push away God's mercy; How can He make you whole? How can He solve your problem, And bring answers about? An independent spirit Will keep His mercy out. *** It does endure forever; God's mercy surely will. God’s mercy’s what we need.
