A child can sense he's wanted, yes, somehow he knows it's true; And if he's not, you can be sure that he can sense that too. *** Perhaps you are a girl and Mom and Dad wanted a boy; And they were disappointed when you came--not filled with joy. Their disappointment made you feel unwanted deep inside; That feeling, "I'm not wanted," to you was then applied. *** There can be many reasons not to welcome a new one: "The time's not right for us to have a daughter or a son"; "It's just an inconvenience," is what you might hear some say. That makes a child, subconsciously, feel that she's not okay. *** To not accept a precious child, a newborn babe so new, Is very sad for that dear one and makes our Lord sad, too. But that's just something that occurs in this imperfect place; Just one of many weaknesses that plagues the human race. *** We need to know just how God felt when we made our debut Upon this earth, when we were born, we need to know it's true, That He was there to welcome us with joy and such delight. The angels watched and all agreed: "Oh, what a precious sight!" *** It was ordained for you to be a baby on this earth. Your life was planned, yes, all of it, before your Mom gave birth. God scheduled every day of life for you so long ago, From the foundation of the world, the Bible says it's so. *** Yes, God was there when you were formed within the womb, it's true. He knit together all your parts, He made the one called you. So fearfully and wonderfully were you made by the Lord. He wanted you, desired you, by God you were adored. *** It matters not the circumstance that caused your birth to be; Or who your Dad and Mother were, of high or low degree. It made no difference to the Lord, they are of value, too; And He was with them at their birth, just as He was with you. *** Just know you're wanted by the God of this great universe. You're not a number to the Lord, your life is not a curse. He's thinking of you all the time and longs for you each day. He is the Heavenly Father who will not turn you away. *** If you're estranged from this great God because of all your sin, Just know Christ took your punishment, God placed it all on Him. And now you can become God's child, just turn from sin, believe, That God has always wanted you--at last, His love receive! *** If you weren't wanted by your Mom or your Dad on this earth, Then that's their problem--it's not yours--God was there at your birth; And He just longs for you to know He really does want you.
