Lord, take truth and let it be In my life-a part of me; Not just known inside my head, But real in my life instead. Word made flesh-my flesh, I mean; So it will through me be seen. *** Have you read the Bible through, Yet its words aren't real to you? Many scriptures, do you know, But in your life they don't show? God's words, do you sometimes preach, And His words to others teach; Yet your life from day to day From those words seems far away? *** Perfect love will cast out fear; Scripture makes that very clear. Perfect love is God's, you know, That to you He wants to show. Yet you struggle with great fear, Even though God's love's so near. Since you know that scripture well, Why can't you your fear dispel? *** In you lives the Prince of Peace; That should make your worries cease. Yet you worry, "Oh, Lord, why?" You will sometimes to God cry. How you need God's truth applied, So your worries will subside. For that, you your God beseech; Yet peace seems so out of reach. *** In your daily life at home, (And wherever else you roam), You'd just love to manifest Qualities that are the best. Yet this truth you have to face: Sometimes home's the hardest place To be patient and be kind; Qualities so hard to find. *** What's the answer, how can we Get fear from our life to flee; And our worries leave behind, And have patience and be kind? How can God's word through us show In our homes down here below, So our children, husbands, wives Can see God's fruit in our lives? *** All God's words we've stored within Will bear fruit as we live in His dear presence every day; I am finding that's the way. That way we give God a chance To His word in us enhance. God's words germinate inside As we in His love abide. *** Draw near to your God each day, Then He'll draw near you, I say; And His fruit will be near you: Love, peace, patience-kindness, too. Just beholding Christ, God's Son, You'll become like that Dear One. What a change you'll see in you; Others will see God's fruit, too. *** Think of Christ throughout each day, To make worry go away.
