Give up, struggle no longer; There's now a rest for you. You're tired out from trying To do what can't be done. Surrendering's the answer, For you and everyone. *** Surrendering to Jesus, You did that years ago. You've made Him Lord of your life, As you've walked here below. You love your precious Savior; He's in your thoughts each day. You've gone where He has led you; From His will you don't stray. *** But yet there is a struggle, As you've served Him with zest. Perhaps you're even burned out; Your soul longs for a rest. It's possible there is this Reality to face: Step two in that surrender May not have taken place. *** You surely have surrendered To following your Lord, But there's a further step now That should not be ignored. If you are in a struggle, Here's what you need to do: You really should surrender, And let Christ walk in you. *** Sincerely you have tried hard To make your flesh obey, And found your "adam" nature Will just not go God's way; But God wants you to know that It's only Christ-in-you, Who can live life the right way, If you will ask Him to. *** You've struggled hard to live life In your own strength each day, But now it's time to give up And go the other way. Say, "Lord, I now surrender; Please walk the walk in me. I want You now to take this Responsibility." *** You'll feel a burden lift off Your shoulders as you do; As you surrender to Him, And let Him walk in you. You'll walk now in the Spirit; That's really how it's done. Your life will now be handled By God's dear precious Son! *** Surrendering's complete now; Your life will be so blest. As Christ lives in and through you, You'll enter into rest. No longer in control of Your Christian walk you'll be. Oh, that's such sweet surrender, You surely then will see. *** Oh, yes, it's sweet surrender, To One who loves your soul; And what a great choice you've made, By giving Christ control.
