STRONG IN THE LORD

By "Rebekah" the Bride

(Eph.6:10-12; Ps.27:1; Rom.7:18; 2 Cor.4:7; 6:16; 12:9-10; Isa.64:8; =
Col.1:27
Matt.11:28-30; Jn.3:30; Deut.33:27; 1 Cor.2:14; Jn.15:5; S.of S.8:5)

***
Strong in the Lord and in the awesome power of His might.
Weak in the flesh, that's how I am, it's true both day and night.
But it's all right for that's the way it is supposed to be:
Strong in my Lord, but, oh, so very, very weak in me.
***
I am a vessel, oh, so weak, with feet made out of clay;
but Christ who dwells within my vessel is my strength each day.
The more I grow in Christ it seems the weaker I become,
and that it is impossible, the Christian race to run.
***
It's when I try to live a Christlike life in my own power,
instead of leaning on God's strength each minute and each hour,
that I find out how weak I am and that there is no way
that I can walk the Christian walk in my own strength each day.
***
"I'll dwell in you, I'll walk in you," God says, "I'll take control.
I'll live My life through you, My child, which gives rest to your soul."
No burn-out for God's people who will live, not by their life,
but by the Life of Christ in them, one that is free from strife.
***
"Christ must increase, I must decrease," says God's word unto me.
To try to make myself be strong is fruitless, I must see.
I cannot change the natural man and make him spiritually strong.
It's "Christ-in-me, the hope of glory" that is my theme song.
***
"You can do nothing without Me," on those words meditate.
Christ said those words in John fifteen, so, please, don't hesitate
to just admit: "I'll never change, I'll always be this weak,"
and lean upon God's everlasting arms, His strength just seek.=20
***
If you are in the wilderness, you've struggled, oh, so long,
you will come out when you do this: lean on God's arms so strong.
You'll find your Lord inside of you will walk your walk FOR you;
He'll take responsibility for that, it's what He'll do.
***
Be like Saint Paul and glory in all of your weaknesses.
When you are weak, then you are strong, not in your strength but His.
So glory in your weaknesses and then, like Paul, you'll see
the power of Christ will rest on you--strong in the Lord you'll be!
