God's perfect sacrificial Lamb Is Jesus Christ for sin. The sin of all the human race, It all was laid on Him. *** Now, there's a sacrifice that we Continually can make; One we can offer to our God, Though effort it will take. The "fruit of our lips" it is called, It's thanks unto His name. It's called the "sacrifice of praise," And it's a noble aim. *** It's called a sacrifice of praise, For it means praising God, When things go wrong, when life is hard, Which may seem rather odd; But it's so easy to praise God When things go well each day. That's good, but it is really not The sacrificial way. *** When you are in the midst of trials That seem so hard to you, It's really quite a sacrifice To praise God then, it's true; But it will be like incense sweet To rise to heaven above. It's really offering to God A sacrifice of love. *** Now, Job was in the midst of trials: He'd lost his family; His health, his riches, were gone, too. Oh, what a tragedy! His wife said, "Job, curse God and die," And yet God heard Job say: "Though You slay me, I'll still trust You." Job sacrificed that day. *** The Bible says, "In everything Give thanks," that is God's way; But it will take an act of will Of yours for you to say: "In this hard time, I praise You, Lord, Because You tell me to. I offer up a sacrifice By giving thanks to You." *** This sacrifice, a weapon is; It's one that we can choose To help us triumph over trials, A weapon we can use. It's really like a secret power That we can tap into, Which will make us victorious In trials that we go through. *** Don't vow and tell the Lord that you Will praise in everything, For though we vow, we sometimes fail; And that, defeat will bring.
