"My thoughts are not your thoughts," says God.=20 Yes, human thoughts are just so flawed. God's thoughts are higher, we should see,=20 And with ours they just don't agree; So what we really need to find Is a renewal of our mind. *** I used to think God's ways were hard,=20 But those thoughts I can now discard. That thinking I will leave behind, For it's a really human kind. Christ says to us, "Come unto Me, And I will give you rest, you see." That does not sound like His way's hard. Avoid those thoughts, please, be on guard! *** "A heavy cross God lays on you!" Oh, please, don't think that statement's true. You will have trials and troubles, too,=20 But they're not crosses laid on you. Your cross to bear is all that Christ Won for you when He paid the price; And took the burden of your sin, So you could have His Life within. *** The carnal mind says, "You must earn=20 The love of God," and so some spurn God's truth that His love can't be earned; This lesson some have just not learned. And therein lies a struggle strong;=20 For some it really takes so long To let that carnal thinking go,=20 As they walk through this life below. *** The blood of Christ brings cleansing to The conscience, yes, it's really true. Your conscience may have been trained to Relate to God by works you do. But those works, scripture calls them "dead."=20 The mind must be renewed instead. To earn from God, you've tried so long, And comes from thinking that is wrong. *** When hard times come into our life,=20 And each new day seems filled with strife, Some think, "It's punishment from God!" But those are carnal thoughts so flawed. Not that we don't deserve to be Punished by God, but we should see That God, on Christ, our judgment laid; Our debt of sin has ALL been paid! *** And now all those who will believe Their punishment Christ did receive, Can just invite the Savior in, And know they're pardoned for their sin. Then when the hard times come their way, They may not know why, yet can say: "This is not punishment from God, For that's old thinking that is flawed." *** A brushing hand, brushing a cat, Does not make its hair stay down flat If it is brushed from tail to head; It makes its hair stand up instead. A cat hates being brushed that way;=20 It needs to turn around, I say. Then that same hand from up above Will be a gentle hand of love. *** We're like that cat faced the wrong way,=20 When our thoughts from the Lord's thoughts stray; For like the cat, life gets so hard, When carnal thoughts we don't discard. With God's thoughts we will be in sync, When He changes the way we think; Then like the cat, when turned around, The Hand of God's love's on us found. *** God sends toward us thoughts of peace, And since Christ died, those thoughts won't cease. He thinks of us with thoughts of love; Our sins He is not thinking of. We're highly favored in His eyes; A truth we need to realize. His plans for us are good ones, too;=20 Not bad ones--yes, it's really true. *** God longs to bless His children so=20 While they are on this earth below, But carnal thoughts can keep away His Hand of blessing every day. To see things from God's point of view Will bring you peace you never knew.
