To do this God gives armor So we can take a stand Against the wiles of Satan; He'll from our lives be banned. *** Each separate piece of armor Is Jesus Christ, you know. Believers are placed in Him; In this they need to grow. They need some understanding So they'll know what it means To have protection on them; It's what the armor brings. *** When Adam in the Garden And Eve, his wife, chose to Do what the Lord said not to, Then, next, what did they do? They fashioned fig leaf coverings To cover over them; And when they heard God calling, They ran and hid from Him. *** We also make those coverings, But they just will not do. God knows we need a covering, A covering that is true. That covering, it is Jesus; The Truth is what He's called. And that's a piece of armor For Christians, one and all. *** The couple in the Garden, They hid behind a tree; For they feared God's rejection, And we're like them, you see. The Righteousness of Jesus, Oh, put that Breastplate on. Then you'll not fear rejection; That fear will just be gone. *** The two within that Garden, When they committed sin, They feared the Lord's great anger, Feared He was mad at them. And if we feel the same way As we walk through this life, Our walk will be a hard one; And we'll be filled with strife *** God took all of His anger Against sin, out on Christ. Now God is not mad at you, For Jesus paid the price. You need to just let your feet With Shoes of Peace be shod. The Prince of Peace will give you A peaceful walk with God. *** Christ Jesus is the author Of your faith, don't you see? He surely is your Faith Shield From your great enemy. From fiery darts thrown at you, Protection there will be. The faith of Jesus in you, From darts will set you free. *** The Helmet of Salvation, It covers up your mind; And Jesus is that helmet- Protection-the best kind. Since Jesus died to save you, Don't focus on your sin. Put on the precious helmet; Just keep your mind on Him. *** The Bible, it calls Jesus The Word of God, you know, And that Word dwells in Christians As they live here below. He is a sword you can use Against the enemy. The Spirit's sword is Jesus To fight with constantly. *** Remember that the armor Is Jesus Christ, our Lord; And since He's in believers, They really can't afford To not put on the armor, So that they won't give in To lies the enemy tells them, And not a victory win. *** We are not wrestling against A physical enemy. Against the lies of Satan, We battle spiritually. So put on the Lord Jesus; He's armor just for you.
