To have a child was a desire That she'd had a long time, But she was almost ninety=20 And her husband ninety-nine. *** Now, Sarah's husband, Abraham, From God, he had a word. God promised he would have a son; This was the word he heard. But that was many years before, When he was seventy-five. It sure was taking a long time For that son to arrive. *** But, sure enough, the following year, A son they finally had. They named him Isaac and he was A precious little lad. God kept His promise faithfully. He did just what He said; And brought forth life from Sarah's womb, Her womb that was so dead. ** Now this was such a miracle, For her to have a son. Her age made it impossible To have this little one. Oh, naturally impossible, But not with God, you see; For He keeps promises to us, Yes, supernaturally. *** The longer that the Lord waited To give Sarah a son, Just made it more impossible For her to bear that one.
