THE PERFECT HUSBAND

By "Rebekah" the Bride

(S.of S. 4:8-12; 2 Cor.11:2; 1 Pet. 1:19; Rom. 8:35-39;
Heb. 13:5; Isa. 61:10; Rev. 19:11)

***
When you invited Christ to come and live within your heart,
His Spirit then was joined with yours and from you He'll not part.
It is a marriage made by God between His Son and you.
He is your Husband, you're His Bride--you now are one, not two.
***
This Husband is a perfect one, unlike those here below;
For husbands here, they have their flaws, as wives most surely know.
Christ is the perfect Lamb of God who on Himself did take
All of the sins we're guilty of, an innocent Bride to make.
***
Christ loves His Bride with perfect love, no matter what she's like.
"I love you just the way you are," He tells her day and night.
"My love for you does not depend on what you say or do.
Remember, I will never take My love away from you."
***
I've heard so many couples say, "To keep a marriage strong,
You really must work hard at it for it to last real long."
But in your marriage to the Lord the work has all been done,
Upon the cross, by your dear Spouse, for each and everyone.
***
We say about commitment, "Be committed unto Him!"
His Bride, she needs to understand, commitment is to them.
He is committed to His Bride, to love her every day;
To never leave His Spouse alone, to never go away.
***
This perfect Husband, He provides all that His Bride does need:
A righteous robe to wear around, her soul He'll surely feed.
He gives her comfort when she's down, encouragement and cheer;
Forgiveness He's provided for, so God's wrath she'll not fear.
***
Some think they have to work real hard to make their Husband stay.
They feel that if they misbehave, He'll surely go away;
But Christ has made a vow to stay, no matter what we do.
"For better or for worse," He says, "I'll always stay with you."
***
Some say that if you teach the Bride that Christ won't go away,
She'll think that she can misbehave, she'll really go astray.
But if they're honest with themselves, they have to face this fact:
They say that for they want to just control how Christians act.
***
If Christians know their Husband loves them unconditionally,
And that He'll never, ever leave, absent He'll never be,
Safe and secure it makes them feel when this great truth they see.
It makes them want to do His will and serve Him faithfully.
***
There are some things Christ's Bride should know that He wants her to =
do:
It is to trust and just believe He's faithful and He's true.
He keeps His vows He made to her, on that she can depend.
He is the perfect Husband and His love will never end.
