Oh, God, please, give me patience; I find that I lack so. I want the fruit of patience To in my life just show." *** If Jesus lives in your heart, His patience lives there, too; The Spirit's fruit of patience, Full-grown inside of you. And as you draw real close to The Savior day by day, This fruit will show in your life; It will be on display. *** But let's look at this patience, God's fruit of patience true, And see, it means God's patient With us--with me, with you. He has such patience toward us; That is so nice to know. And He is patient with us, Because He loves us so. *** We all need patient people In our lives day by day, Especially if we make some Mistakes along the way. A parent, boss or teacher, How wonderful to see Them being kind toward us, To treat us patiently. *** So how much more important Is it for us to know That our God is so patient Toward us as we grow? His patience dwells within us; It's always there close by. If you're like me, you need it; And it's in full supply. *** God has such love toward us; A love that will not end. He has such peace toward us; God is our greatest Friend. How He rejoices o'er us; Such joy He sends our way. And in the same way, patience, He offers us each day. *** The "smoking flax" God won't quench; He won't break a "bruised reed."=20 To broken and bruised people, He's merciful, indeed. He will be patient toward them, Though many times they fall. He is a patient Father; Not impatient at all. *** Longsuffering is our dear Lord Toward the world, you know. For anyone to perish, Is not His will, that's so. On Judgment Day there'll be no One who will dare to say, That our God was not patient; They can't say that--no way! *** The prodigal son's father Waited so patiently For him to come back to him; He loved him so, you see. And that's the way the Father In heaven is toward us; A patient Heavenly Father, And one that we can trust. *** The patience of our Father Is awesome, yes, it is.
