Inside my mind a problem weighed,=20 and I was feeling down. The snow was wet and slushy, stained a dirty brown, not white; just like my inner feelings were- a burdened heart, not light. *** I also thought of people there in town who don't believe. So many caught in evil; folks that Satan did deceive. My feelings grew so negative, so heavy on my mind, that deepest darkness filled me- the most overwhelming kind. *** "Oh, why art thou cast down my soul?"=20 King David sighed one day. He whispered to his inmost self; all joy had slipped away. And that's how I was feeling=20 as I trudged on through the snow. Like David, I was focused=20 on the evil here below. *** But after I had gone one mile,=20 a scripture came to me, that set me free within my mind=20 from negativity: "I will lift up mine eyes," it went,=20 "unto the hills above." Those words, they were the message=20 that I started thinking of. *** I'd focused on the darkness, for my eyes were looking down at problems and the evil=20 as I walked in my hometown. But God was saying, "Look up,=20 will you please look up at Me? Then I will cause that feeling that's come over you to flee." *** Now, overcome by darkness=20 is what we should never be; but overcome the evil=20 by the good we do, you see. Don't struggle 'gainst the darkness; but, instead, bring in the light. Though dark is getting darker, yet the light is getting bright. *** Oh, please, don't curse the darkness; light one candle, shine the light- one good deed that will shine out in the darkness of this night. And don't be overcome =20 by all the evil that you see. Lift up your eyes, remember,=20 Jesus said, "Look unto Me." *** Because of evil doers, do not fret yourself today; for down the road for those ones there will be a price to pay. "Vengeance is mine," thus saith the Lord; it's never yours to take. The wrongs done to you, give to God;=20 to Him an offering make. *** What Satan means for evil, God will surely use for good, in lives of those who love Him; our Lord promised that He would. He's God's convenient agent; yes, that is the devil's role, to bring about in our lives=20 our Lord's plans to bless our soul. *** The evil has a purpose; it is not as it appears. Behind the scenes God's working; and after the smoke all clears, we'll see God's plan emerging, if we have the eyes to see. Especially if we love Him,=20 it is true for you and me. *** Just know you have an angel=20 who is guarding over you; so you are not defenseless,=20 no you're not, it's surely true. God's realm of light surrounds you,=20 though the dark is all you see; So use your faith and look up,=20 Jesus says, "Look unto Me." *** Lift up your eyes, Christ's coming; your redemption draweth nigh. Don't let the darkness keep you from the sight of the Most High. God's not from His throne fallen; yes, He still is in control.
