"LIE DOWN" WITH THE LAMB

By "Rebekah" the Bride

(Lu.4:18; Isa.7:14; 54:17[b]; Matt.1:23; 11:28-30
Jn.1:29; 8:58; 10:7-9, 14-16; 14:6
Acts 2:21; Rom.8:1; 2 Cor.5:21; Jam.4:8[a])

***
Is there a "lion" in your life?
One, oh, so strong, causing great strife?
You battle it most every day,
A "dragon" that you'd like to slay?
Perhaps a habit, one that's strong,
One that you hate, you know it's wrong.
You battle this one endlessly,
And yet from it you're never free.
***
You hate yourself for what you do,
When this "lion's" controlling you;
And though, at times, it quiets down,
You soon find out it's still around.
A moment's pleasure, it might bring,
But then, you would give anything,
If you could only be set free;
Deliverance you would love to see.
***
A man called Jesus walked this earth,
One who'd come forth by virgin birth;
And in the synagogue, said He,
"I've come to set the captives free."
This man is called the Lamb of God;
The Lamb who on this earth once trod.
Here's how to break the "lion's" hold:
Just come into this great Lamb's fold.
***
This Lamb gave up His life, you see,
So all the wrongs of you and me
Could be forgiven, once, for all;
Now we can on His name just call.
The penalty for things done wrong,
The "lion's" plague that is so strong,
Christ Jesus took it all on Him.
The Lamb, He took away our sin.
***
You might say, "Yes, I do believe;
The Lamb of God, I did receive.
But yet a "lion" still plagues me;
What must I do to be set free?"
The way that you can tame this beast,
So from its grip you'll be released,
Is with the Lamb to just "lie down."
With God's great Lamb, just hang around.
***
To tame your "lion," try this way:
Just "lie down" with the Lamb each day.
Stay close to Jesus, that's the key;
In His presence there's victory.
You need the Lamb, all of us do;
He longs to help you, yes, it's true.
Those bondages that cling so tight,
He wants to see them just take flight.
***
Come unto Jesus, you'll find rest
From habits that are not the best.
Don't try to fight them on your own;
They won't decrease, they'll get full-blown.
Your failures, God does not condemn;
Christ took them all, yes, all of them.
He sees you righteous, day and night;
The Lamb in you has made you right.
***
One day God came and took away
A habit that plagued me each day.
It just was gone, miraculously;
What mercy my Lamb showed to me!
With other "lions" that plague me,
He works a different way, I see.
He says,"'Lie down,' come close, my dear;
This one I'll tame if you draw near."
***
God really loves your company;
That's why He says, "Come near to Me."
Take time to be alone with Him,
This Lamb who took away your sin.
Though it might not be overnight,
Whatever way He works is right.
It is a work you let God do,
To break the "lion's" grip on you.
***
With God you can cooperate,
To make your "lion" be sedate.
Draw near, "lie down," just rest each day;
To be set free, that is the way.
Self effort cannot set you free;
The Lamb has won the victory.
Remember, you to Him belong.
The Lamb will calm your "lion" strong.
***
So here's the secret: Just "lie down,"
To tame your "lion" roaring round.
Just "lie down" with the Lamb of God,
Though weaknesses make you feel flawed.
A "lion" tamer is the Lamb;
Christ Jesus is the great I AM.
"I AM the Truth, I AM the Way."
Draw near and in His presence stay.
