THE LEAP OF FAITH

By "Rebekah" the Bride

(Heb. 4:9-10; Isa.54:17; 2 Cor.5:21; Titus 3:5; 1 Pet.1:7)

***
There is a leap of faith that Christians here on earth can take.
This leap, it is a scary one that most don't want to make.
But if you're willing just to leap, though it is a hard test,
You'll find it's how you enter in what scripture calls "a rest."
***
This leap may be the hardest thing that you have ever done;
But once you do it, life will be an easy race to run.
To take this leap you have to throw all caution to the wind;
But it will sure be worth it all, God's "rest" you'll enter in.
***
Now, many Christians have great faith that they use powerfully.
They cast out demons, heal the sick with great authority.
Their faith, it doesn't waver, prayers are answered wonderfully;
But even so, the leap of faith's a higher faith, you'll see.
***
Now, here's a question I will ask to see if you'll agree
To take that scary leap of faith and take it willingly:
Oh, are you willing to believe that Christ has done it ALL
To make you righteous in God's sight when on Him you did call?
***
And are you willing to believe, no matter what you do,
That God will keep you righteous, that He'll do that for you?
You cannot even help Him out, on Him you must rely.
Your righteousness He will maintain so you won't need to try.
***
To let Christ be your righteousness means you're not in control;
And it's so hard to give that up, as many Christians know.
To think I must depend on Christ, as I am just so flawed;
It seems that I should help Him out to keep me right with God.
***
It humbles you to think that there is NOTHING you can do
To add to what the Lord has done on Calvary's cross for you.
No matter if you've worked for God for half a century,
It cannot count for righteousness, for righteousness is free!
***
If you say, "I've behaved myself, so righteous I must be.
I've worked so hard for my dear Lord and served Him faithfully,"
Then you've not made that leap of faith of which I'm telling you.
Just put trust in Christ's righteousness and not in what you do.
***
You may say, "I've not lived life right, how can I righteous be?
Although the Lord's my Savior, I've failed Him constantly."
You also have not made that leap of which I'm telling you.
Just trust His righteousness alone, a faith leap you will do!
***
Christ died upon the cross to give His righteousness to us.
Imagine how it makes Him feel when we don't in that trust!
But when we do, it brings us rest, a rest that's for the soul.
Oh, please, just take that leap of faith, let that leap be your goal.
