Seated in heavenly places, IN Christ, right from the start; And yet it takes a journey To know this in the heart. *** This journey we are taking Starts at the finish line; And God's the destination, Your goal to reach-and mine. Christ's cross-His crucifixion- Is finished work, all done, That brought us to the Father; Our goal, reached by the Son. *** We're IN Christ and Christ Jesus Is IN God, yes, it's true; So therefore we are IN God, A Home for me-for you. No struggling to get where We are already placed; Our efforts made to get there, Are really just a waste. *** And yet it is a journey, Though we're already there; But since it is a faith walk, We must become aware That God's our Habitation, A place where we can rest. Right from the time we found Him, We were already blessed. *** And so this trip we're taking, This journey, Homeward bound, It's a time of discovering This truth we've not yet found. To truth we once were blinded, But now we start to see. The light of truth is breaking, Slowly, on you and me. *** Our true self is in God now; It's who we really are. And making that discovery, Is such good news-by far! To grow is to discover That we've been made complete. In God's sight we are righteous; We are not tares, but wheat. *** Though we have homes on this earth, Ones built of wood or stone, Those homes are for the body; They are not the soul's home. The soul can feel so homeless Till in God it finds rest; So on this God-ward journey, That is our aim, our quest. *** Our hearts are, oh, so restless, Until they rest in God. Let's set our hearts upon Him, As through this life we trod. For "Home is where the heart is," A saying that's well known. Beginning and the ending; God's our eternal Home. *** Our journey to the Father- Though we're already there- This journey to the Homeland, For which Christ paid the fare, Is seeing and discovering The destination's won. We’re = IN Christ and Christ=20 Jesus
Is IN God, = yes, it’s=20 true;
So therefore = we are IN=20 God,
A Home for = me—for=20 you.
