I need to know that I=92m God=92s child, And that I=92ll ever be; To know I=92ll always be=20 A member of His family. *** I need to know that I am saved By what the Lord has done, Not by my works but only by The work of His dear Son. I need to know that Christ=92s shed blood Appeased our Holy God; And now He is at peace with me, As through this life I trod. ** I need to know that God loves me, No matter, come what may; To know I cannot earn His love, And know it=92s free each day. I need to know that I am loved, For it=92s my greatest need; And knowing that in my life now Is what makes me succeed. *** I need to know God looks at me And sees me in His Son, And that I can just rest in what The Lord for me has done. I need to know His righteousness Is mine, no need to earn, And it=92s His job to maintain that; A fact I want to learn. *** I need to know I can=92t be plucked Out of my Father=92s hand. I need to know and just believe That He my soul will keep. *** I need to know that God accepts me Every single day, Because He sees me in His Son And that there is no way That He=92ll reject me, no, He won=92t; I need to know it=92s true. Or else my heart will fill with fear, As this life I go through. *** I cannot rest until I know That it is really true, That God will never leave this child, No matter what I do. Though my faith fails, I need to know That faithful He will be. I=92ll rest securely in His arms, And have security. *** I need to know that God is love, To know that God is good, Though bad things happen here on earth, Things I=92ve not understood. I need to know that God=92s still on=20 The throne, He=92s in control; And know that I can surely trust Him With my precious soul. *** To know my Father=92s keeping me, Gives such rest to my soul; And makes me want to do His will, And let Him have control. That is the key to living life, The Christian life, you see. It=92s knowing how secure I am For all eternity. *** And now I know beyond a doubt, For I believe it=92s true, That God keeps me eternally As He has promised to. It=92s faith that gives me confidence, Yes, faith, oh, what a gift!
