For them to have feet like a deer speaks of their walk, you see; And only God can bring about this walk for you and me. *** What does it mean for God to make our feet just like the deer, So on high places we can walk as we live life down here? It means the word of God will not be only in our head; It means that it will really be down in our heart instead. *** I may have many scriptures memorized inside my mind, Yet, if they're not real in my life, my feet aren't like the hind. I know within my mind God loves me unconditionally. That needs to move from head to heart to make that real to me. *** A farmer back in Bible days with fields that do not yield; No grapes, no olives and no figs are growing in his field. No sheep, no cattle in the stalls, they're nowhere to be found. Oh, what a barren year it's been, such an unyielding ground! *** Now, maybe, that sounds just like you, you're barren like that ground. You look for God's fruit in your life, it's nowhere to be found. God loves you and He's with you now but that does not seem true. It seems as if the Lord might be a million miles from you. *** God is at peace with Christians, yet, some feel no peace within. They've been forgiven, still they have no victory over sin. God sees them righteous in His sight but only faults they see. What's needed is feet like the deer to set these Christians free. *** The Bible tells us what to do to get feet like the hind, So that the blessed word of God is not just in our mind. It says that even though our life is showing forth no fruit, Rejoice in God, say, "He's my strength," then His word will take root. *** Rejoice in God, joy in the Lord, just say, "My strength is He. Though my life seems so barren, I will trust Him faithfully." Wait for the Lord to make His truth alive down where you live.
