At times it overwhelmed me and brought me close to tears. I prayed about the problem, "God, please, take it away!" But, yet, it did not leave me, it still with me did stay. *** I knew the Bible tells us that God will answer prayer, for He does long to bless us, our burdens He will bear. It says it's God's good pleasure to give us what we pray. God tells us, "Ask in My will and answers come your way." *** A human, earthly father, if his kids asked for fish, would not give them a serpent, he'd give them what they wish. Then how much more our Father, the one who's Heavenly, will give us gifts, the Word says, asked for by you and me. *** The Bible says, if we ask, then we're sure to receive. If we knock, doors will open, they will if we believe. Just seek and you will find it, the Bible says that's true. The Word gives such assurance that God will answer you. *** But, yet, those words from heaven would not come down to earth, though God's my Heavenly Father for I've had the new birth. No answer to my prayer came, why did God make me wait? I'd asked, in faith, believing, why was my answer late? *** I know God loves me dearly when I look at the cross. My sins He laid on Jesus so my soul won't be lost. A loving Father like that would surely want for me to be helped with my problem, to give me victory. *** Then one day came the breakthrough, the answer was so clear: "Yes, I would love to help you," God said, "I would, My dear. The problem is on your part, My hands are tied, you see, for you've not really given control over to Me." *** Oh, wow, I saw the light then, I knew my Lord was right. That's why my overeating was just not taking flight. Yes, that's what was my problem that would not go away. That's what had overwhelmed me and in my life did stay. *** The area of eating is one that I'd controlled. Deep down I really did not want to give up my hold. "What could I do" said Father, "you never did let go? Just give me your permission, deliverance then you'll know." *** If you've asked God to take a bad habit all away, and yet it keeps on clinging to your life every day, I wonder if the problem, deep down within your soul, is that you've never really relinquished your control? *** It's God who works within us to make us willing to give up a habit that's bad, it's really what He'll do. I struggled with a problem for years and years and=20 years.

I prayed about the problem, "God, please, take it = away!"
But, yet, it did not leave me, it still with me did=20 stay.

I knew the Bible tells us that God will answer = prayer,

That’s why my overeating was just not taking = flight.
Yes, that’s what was my problem that would not = go away.
That’s what had overwhelmed me and in my life = did stay.

Deep down I really did not want to give up my = hold.
"What could I do" said Father, "you never did let = go?
Just give me your permission, deliverance then = you’ll=20 know."

If you’ve asked God to take a bad habit all = away,
and yet it keeps on clinging to your life every = day,
I wonder if the problem, deep down within your = soul,
is that you’ve never really relinquished your = control?

It’s God who works within us to make us = willing to
give up a habit that’s bad, it’s really = what He’ll do.
If we’ll give Him permission to change us deep = within,
our God will make us willing so victory we will = win.
