This calling is so special, believers can't afford To miss out on this calling, a privileged one to hear. There is no calling higher, on that we should be clear. Some Christians have a passion for God, they love Him so; And when they're called to service so willingly they go. They work hard in the harvest and serve God faithfully. Praise God for these dear Christians who serve Him ceaselessly. But there's a higher calling than service, don't you see? And that's to let God love you, your Lover He would be. Though you might love God dearly and serve Him passionately, You need to let God love you with love that's given free. You might say, "Oh, I do that, I let the Lord love me"; But just suppose you could not perform your ministry. Would you feel that you're loved less because you serve no more? Or would you feel God loves you just like you felt before? This higher calling's offered to Christians everywhere; For God is no respecter of persons--He is fair. "Just let Me be your Lover, My love for you is free. My love has no conditions, "He says to you and me. To let God be your Lover is easy "work" to do. You do not need to serve God to get this love so true. You just need to be humble, a good receiver be; And say, "My works don't earn it, I'll take this gift that's free." There just might be a shortage of Christians on this earth, Who seem to have one main goal since they've had the new birth; And that's to let God love them, that's their first ministry. Instead, most think that service should be put first, you see. The plans God has for your life, the things He'd have you do, Will be done in the best way if you let God love you. This calling that is higher than service that is done, Oh, please, accept this calling, let it be number one. There is just one condition that you must first fulfill, To enter the high calling that's so much in God's will; And that's to cease from your works to build self righteousness By things you do in service--from that you need to rest. For, in Christ, as a Christian, you're righteous in God's sight. If you serve or you don't serve, with God you are alright. If you don't clearly see that, a hindrance it will be To keep you from this calling, this high one, don't you see? If you know that you're perfect in God's sight constantly, And that there's no conditions on God's love, you will see That you'll respond to His love, you'll just let Him love you. For you'll know that His love is not based on things you do. This high and holy calling--a call to intimacy-- Is what my Lord inside now is speaking unto me. And do you hear that calling that comes from your First Love? Your Shepherd knocks and asks you: "Open to Me, My dove." "It is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me . . . my love, my dove . . ."
