After thirty-three years, His mission was done. He went about healing and doing great good, Yet was crucified on a cross made of wood. *** "Oh, such an injustice, a horrible thing!"=20 Christ's followers lamented, their hearts were breaking. His friends on that Friday did not realize That this situation was God in disguise. *** Yes, God used the devil, he was God's agent, To bring about God's will--it's why Christ was sent. What men meant for evil, God meant for our good, For Christ bore our sins on that cross made of wood. *** So what looked so evil was really the way That we'd be forgiven--Christ hung there to pay For all the wrongs we've done so we could be free From sin and its wages for eternity. *** And then three days later God's Son, He arose. That "bad" situation, it came to a close; And then Christ's dear followers could see, with surprise, That the dark "Good" Friday was God in disguise! *** A Hebrew named Joseph was thrown in a well By his hateful brothers, and then they did sell Him to an Egyptian whose wife told a lie, Which landed this Joseph in prison--oh, why? *** Oh, such an injustice, a horrible thing! But out of it God to His people did bring A way to survive in a famine so great. God's people did not starve, instead, they all ate. *** Oh, what a disguise that the Lord had put on; From that situation the Lord was not gone.
