I bought the tape and played that song a hundred times or more. It ministered to me and caused my heart within to soar. *** One day I prayed that prayer to God and this is how it went: "Oh, Lord, give me the gift of love!" and I thought that I meant that I would like more love from God to use to give away, to those who are unlovable that I'd meet day by day. *** My human love was lacking and I needed God's love so; then better I would serve my Lord, as through this life I'd go. To serve my God effectively, His love I'd surely need; so I could please my precious Lord and serve Him well, indeed. *** But when I prayed that fervent prayer, I felt a touch within, as though the Lord anointed it and that prayer came from Him. And after many years went by, I then began to see that from my very deepest heart, I meant, "Oh, Lord, love ME!" *** I thought that I had service on my mind back then that day, when I asked for the gift of love in that prayer I did pray; but, really, from down deep within, and God knew all along, that I wanted His love for ME, when I heard that love song. *** Yes, I had service on my mind but God felt differently; He wanted me to really know the love He has for ME. And that was what my deepest heart was really praying for; and now I want to know that love, yes, know it more and more. *** "I can tell others that the Lord loves them so tenderly; yet, I have difficulty knowing that the Lord loves me." This is a statement that I heard a Christian make one day. Oh, what a tragic thing for any child of God to say! *** That unbelieving thinking really needs to go away. "I know God surely loves ME," is what God would have you say. Your deepest heart is crying out, "Oh, Lord, please, just love ME!" To serve God better let Him love you unconditionally. *** If you've been telling others many years, "Oh, God loves you," and yet there's times when you're not sure that your Lord loves you, = too, just ask Him for the gift of love and say, "Please help me see Your gift of love is for MYSELF, let me know You love ME!" *** When you survey the wondrous cross on which your Savior died, that's where you'll see this gift of love, this love so deep and wide. Christ bore your sin, He died your death, no greater love can be. To serve God better let Him love you = unconditionally.

and yet there’s times when you’re not = sure that your Lord=20 loves you, too,
just ask Him for the gift of love and say, "Please = help me=20 see
Your gift of love is for MYSELF, let me know You = love=20 ME!"

that’s where you’ll see this gift of = love, this love so deep=20 and wide.
