GIVE GOD ALL THE GLORY

By "Rebekah" the Bride

(Isa.42:8; 64:6; Zech.4:7; Matt.11:28-30; Jn.1:29; Acts 15:11
Rom.5:8-9,17; 7:18-25; 10:3-4; 2 Cor.6:16; Gal.2:21; Eph.1:6; 2:4-9; =
Col.1:20
Titus 3:5-7; Heb.4:1-11; 5:13-14; 1 Pet.1:18-19; Jude 24)

***
Was what Christ did upon the cross enough to save the soul?
Was it enough to keep one saved, enough to make one whole?
"Just as I am without one plea," is what you need to say;
"But that His blood was shed for me on Crucifixion Day."
***
If we think we can maintain our salvation, then it's clear
That we are in control and that we really do not fear;
We do not fear that we won't enter into our Lord's rest.
It is a sign of unbelief-we've not chosen God's best.
***
Do we think we can make ourselves more righteous by our works?
If we think that then in our hearts deception really lurks.
If righteousness came by the law then Christ is dead in vain.
Our very best behavior cannot righteousness obtain.
***
God will not share His glory with another, scriptures say.
He won't accept our working to keep righteous-there's no way!
Control of our salvation or our righteousness, you see,
Is trying to take the glory, something that can never be.
***
We need not work to try to keep the Lord appeased, it's true.
No matter how we try it's something He won't let us do.
It's only blood that will appease a holy God so just.
The Lamb's blood is the only thing in which to place our trust.
***
"You mean, Lord, I can't have a part, I can't be in control?
I need to trust that You will take good care of my dear soul?
When it comes to my soul, You mean, all I need do is rest?"
To let go and let God, for some, is really quite a test.
***
We really do insult the Lord when we try hard to earn
Acceptance from Him by our works, we really need to learn
That in Christ we're acceptable, there's just no other way.
"It's not by works, it's by His grace," to us the Lord does say.
***
"Oh wretched man I am," Paul said, and what he really meant
Was that his adam nature-his old flesh-was really bent
On just performing perfectly so he could righteous be
In His Lord's sight, but that was wrong, Paul learned eventually.
***
No, God won't share His glory with another-you or me.
HIS righteousness lived through us is what our Lord longs to see.
Saved by His grace, kept by His grace, is something He must do;
Then He'll get all the glory-none for me, and none for you!
***
This is grace at its finest, if we enter it we'll find
That we've drawn near to Jesus and that on "meat" we have dined.
We'll speak "grace" to our mountains and they will become a plain.
From mountains of adversity deliverance we'll obtain.
***
It humbles us to think that there is nothing we can do
To help the Lord to keep us saved and keep us righteous, too.
He does it all, the credit goes to Him and Him alone.
Give God the glory-ALL of it-for it's His very own.
