A father said these words one day To his most wayward kid. "I don=92t think any less of you, Though this bad thing you=92ve done. I still love you, I always will, Because you are my son." *** The son had fallen into sin; Temptation=92s grip was strong. He did something he shouldn=92t have done, Though he knew it was wrong; And now his sin had been exposed For all the world to see. This was his lowest point in life, A great calamity. *** He felt such guilt and shame within; If only he could hide. He=92d hurt the family that he loved; He thought of suicide. He feared his father would be mad, When he heard what he=92d done; But then his father said these words To his guilt-ridden son: *** "I don=92t think any less of you Because of what you=92ve done. My love is unconditional, And you=92re my precious son." His father said, "I love you, child, No matter what you do. Please know that in this trial you=92re in, I=92m always here for you." *** And that is like our Father God, For He is that way, too. He places no conditions on His love for me--for you. When we fall to temptation, And do what should not be done, He says, "I think no less of you, My daughter (or my son.)" *** God hates the sin that hurts us so, And causes us much pain. But He loves us, He always will; His love for us won=92t wane. He took the sins that plague us so, And laid them on His Son. Christ took our place, paid the sin debt, For each and everyone. *** She was caught in adultery; It finally was exposed By the religious leaders=20 And then each of them supposed That Jesus Christ would deal with her With condemnation strong. But then His words did not do that; He showed them they were wrong. *** "I don=92t think any less of you Because of what you=92ve done. I don=92t condemn you, unlike them," Kindness came from God=92s Son. "They should not cast a stone at you, For they=92re not without sin. My daughter, go and sin no more; Let a new life begin." *** The Father and the Son are both alike, For they are one; And so to see the Father=92s love, You must look at His Son.
