THE CHRISTMAS GIFT
***
Christ Jesus
came from heaven to earth;
The Virgin
Mary gave Him birth.
From Adam,
Christ did not descend;
The Father
God, His Son, did send.
He entered
into time and space;
He visited
the human race.
Oh, what a
heavenly gift of love!
A Christmas
present from above!
***
Great
darkness covered the whole earth,
Til Christ
was born—a Holy birth;
And then the
Light began to rise,
To fill the
heart that inside cries:
"Oh, God,
where are You, are You real?
Your love
for me I need to feel!
What are You
like, I want to know;
Your nature
to me, oh, please show!"
***
The Father
wanted us to know,
While living
life on earth below,
That He is
not the way we thought;
A lie from
Satan we have bought.
Christ came
to set the record straight,
Our wrong
ideas to just negate.
This
Christmas present is a gift,
That from
our minds, will darkness lift.
***
To know the
way the Father is,
To see the
nature that is His,
Look at His
Son, that’s what to do;
God’s gift
to me, His gift to you.
He’ll show
us what the Father’s like,
To change
our thoughts from wrong to right.
He’ll lift
the veil off of our eyes;
Then we’ll
be in for a surprise.
***
Let’s see
the Son, let’s take a look;
Let’s look
at Jesus in God’s book.
He healed
the sick, He raised the dead;
He said,
"Don’t hate, but love instead."
To one
caught in adultery,
"I don’t
condemn you," then said He.
The
children, how He loved them so;
He held and
blessed them here below.
***
Christ came,
not to condemn the world—
This
Christmas gift, God’s love unfurled—
But that,
through Him, it might be saved;
The way to
heaven, Jesus paved.
Christ said,
"Come unto Me and rest."
He offers us
a life that’s best.
All of our
burdens He will lift
From off our
shoulders—what a gift!
***
This gift
God sent on Christmas Day,
For our
sins, He did gladly pay.
God punished
Jesus in our place;
He did that
for the human race.
All sins
that you and I have done
Were laid
upon this sinless One.
This Perfect
Love the world was shown;
For sins,
Christ Jesus did atone.
***
We thought
that God was mad at us,
(A God like
that is hard to trust);
But now,
because of Christmas Day,
We know that
God is not that way.
God offers
peace to all, you see;
And all
because of Calvary.
Yes, PEACE
ON EARTH, it’s really true.
Oh, world,
God has forgiven you!
***
In Matthew,
Mark and Luke and John,
It’s there
that we can focus on
The life of
Christ, and we will see
God’s love
for you, His love for me.
We’ll see
the Father when we look
Upon
Christ’s life shown in God’s book.
"The
Father’s like Me!" Christ did say.
Remember
that this Christmas Day!
***
The Father
and the Son are one;
Yes, Christ
is God, He’s God, the Son.
So human,
but yet so divine,
This gift at
Christmas—yours and mine.
God’s nature
Christ has shown to us;
He is a God
that we can trust.
Oh, He’s a
precious gift so free;
The
Christmas gift for you and me!
