The Bible says the mind,

That is, the carnal kind,

With God, it is at enmity;

That means it is God’s enemy.

The mind, the way we think,

With God, it’s not in sync.

Our thoughts are not God’s thoughts, you see;

Our thoughts with God’s just don’t agree.

The world is, oh, so blind,

Especially in the mind.

What God is like, they do not know;

Their understanding’s lacking so.

When Adam chose to stray,

Chose not to go God’s way,

A darkness came upon his mind;

Reality he could not find.

The world’s ideas of God

Are not ones to applaud.

They think He is a way He’s not;

The lie of Satan they have bought.

Yes, he’s the enemy,

Who hopes we will not see

The truth of how God really is;

Those darkened thoughts are surely his.

The world thinks God’s afar,

That He’s not where they are;

But they are wrong, for He is near.

Yes, God’s close by, He is right here.

Their darkened minds are blind;

They think God’s hard to find.

But all they really need to do

Is call on Him and He’ll come through.

If only they could know

That God just loves them so.

He showed His love for everyone

By giving His beloved Son.

Yes, Jesus took the place

Of all the human race;

And bore sin’s punishment, you see,

So we could live eternally.

God offers His love free,

Yes, unconditionally.

The world thinks God’s love must be earned;

That’s what they’re taught, it’s what they’ve learned.

But they are, oh, so blind;

There’s darkness in their mind.

They need God’s light to shine today,

And chase those darkened thoughts away.

Sometimes the carnal mind

Says, "There’s no God to find!

I am the captain of my soul;

I’m at the helm, I’m in control!"

But there’s a Judgment Day;

For unbelief they’ll pay.

And then the carnal mind, they’ll see,

It really is God’s enemy.

The world says, "God’s not good.

If He were, then He would

Let nothing evil happen to

The ones on earth--to me, to you."

But this they do not say:

"We humans CHOSE to stray.

Yes, God gives choice and we chose to

Go our own way and evil do."

Some feel on Judgment Day

That it will be this way:

That if our bad outweighs our good,

We’ll go to hell, oh, yes, we would.

If it’s the other way,

"If good is more," they say,

Then we will up to heaven go.

So many think that here below.

God’s thoughts, they need to see,

With that, do not agree.

The question is: What have you done

With Jesus Christ who is God’s Son?

It’s mercy that one needs;

Salvation’s not by deeds.

Just as I am, without one plea,

To this world don’t conform;

Your mind God will transform.

It comes if you will to Him yield,

And let truth to you be revealed.

Because your God’s so kind,

He will renew your mind.

You’ll see things from God’s point of view,

And that will bring great joy to you.
