Burdens Lifted

By "Rebekah" the Bride

(Isa.9:6; 53:6; 1 Pet.5:7; Phil.4:6; Ps.103:12)

Life’s burdens that we carry
On our shoulders every day,
Can get so very heavy,
We wish they’d go away.
We wonder how we’ll make it
With such a heavy load.
We wish it would be lifted,
As we travel down life’s road.

Oh, wouldn’t it be wonderful
As we walk on life’s road,
If there were only someone else
To carry our big load?
To shoulder all our burdens
So we could walk on free
Of heavy weights we carry--
Loads of responsibility.

Well, here’s some news that you should hear;
Good news, you soon will see.
There is Someone who’s willing to
Take on your loads for free.
But, oh, you must be willing
To on His shoulders place,
All of your cares and burdens;
And let Him run your race.

It’s Jesus Christ I’m speaking of;
He is the Lord, you know.
The government shall be on Him;
In scripture it says so.
And on His shoulders you can place
All of your cares today,
And He will carry them for you.
Just ask Him when you pray.

But yet it is so hard for us
To on Christ’s shoulders thrust,
All of our cares and worries;
And in Him put our trust.
Our heavy loads, we’ve always carried
By ourselves, you see.
"It’s hard," you say, "to just believe
He’d carry them FOR me."

When Christ was dying on the cross,
He took our load of sin.
He paid sin’s price for one and all;
A victory He did win.
So don’t be unbelieving;
Believe it’s really true,
That He has shouldered all your sins.
He’s done all that for you.

There is just one main thing in life
That He asks you to do,
And that is that you let Him be
Responsible for you.
You’ll find He’ll take your burdens,
And give you perfect rest.
So go ahead, just trust Him now,
And you’ll be really blessed.
