BUILDING ON THE ROCK

By "Rebekah" the Bride

(Matt. 7:24-27; 1 Sam. 2:2; Song. of Sol. 2:14; Ps. 18:2; 1 Cor. 10:4)

***
A house that’s built upon a rock will surely be alright,
when floods of rain fall down on it and winds blow with great might.
But if the house were built on sand, how different it would be;
when battered by the wind and rain, it would fall, certainly.
***
The one who builds a house on rock is wise, don’t you agree?
The one who builds a house on sand, a foolish one is he.
Christ is the Rock and when you build your life on Him, you see,
you’ll be just like the one who built the house on rock, wisely.
***
As Christians this is how we know we’re building on the sand:
when hard times beat against our life, we surely will not stand.
But if we’re building on the rock, when hard times come around,
we will be strong and we’ll not fall for on the rock we’re found.
***
Have you seen a believer whose life looked so very strong,
but when the trials blew hard on him, his faith in God was gone?
Although it really seemed that he was building properly,
His faith in God just disappeared for all around to see.
***
What does it mean as Christians to build on the rock, not sand?
This really is important for you need to understand
the proper way to build your life so when the storms blow in,
you’ll find your faith you’ll hold onto and victory you will win.
***
If you trust in the blood Christ shed upon the cross for you,
so you could be forgiven sins, past, present--future, too,
that’s how you build upon the rock and you’ll find it is true,
when stormy trials just flood your life they will not topple you.
***
If you will live each day believing this is really true:
that Christ has died so He could give His righteousness to you,
you’ll know that when God looks at you Christ’s righteousness He’ll see;
and that will make you strong in storms for on the rock you’ll be.
***
Be sure to follow Christ alone don’t follow people, too.
The finest Christians that you know can be as weak as you.
And if they fall, you’ll fall down, too, because you’ve not built on
the Solid Rock, the Rock of Christ, the One to build upon.
***
If you’re a Christian and you see you’ve built your house on sand,
you still belong to Jesus and God longs to help you stand.
When storms of life come in on you, He’ll now show you the way
to live your life while here on earth: "Build on My Son," He’ll say.
***
Oh, Christ is such a Solid Rock, He says, "In Me abide."
When storms come our way, He’s a Rock in whose cleft we can hide.
And if you build your life on Him, when stormy trials are through,
you’ll find you’ll still be standing tall for Christ is strong in you.
