BE CHILDLIKE

Some people brought their kids to Christ in Bible times one day.
The Lord’s disciples tried to make them leave and go away.
The Lord rebuked them and He said, "Let children come to Me;
Forbid them not, God’s kingdom is for children, don’t you see?"
***
"Become just like a child," He said, "or you’ll not enter in;
Into My kingdom, no you won’t," is what He said to them.
"God’s kingdom, it is made up of dear children, don’t you know?
Become childlike so that you will into My kingdom go."
***
To enter in God’s kingdom now you need to just believe
That Christ was punished for your sin and like a child receive
Forgiveness that is offered you, eternal life that’s free.
To do this it will really take childlike humility.
***
If you’re grown up, how can you be just like a child again?
How can you be like Jesus wants, like you were at age ten?
Well, here is what you need to do: believe just everything
Your Father says, your Heavenly one, and to Him blessings bring.
***
A little child is teachable, believing with his heart
The things his daddy says to him, and that’s where we can start
To be just like a little child in what God says to us.
Believe our Father, come what may, in His words put our trust.
***
To be childlike, (but not childish), it is the way to grow.
Since God says, "I love you," just say, "I know it must be so,
Because I know my Heavenly Dad would never lie to me."
Just always trust what your God says, trust it implicitly.
***
A child will trust his father for provisions that he needs:
A place to live and food and clothes, he’ll go where daddy leads.
That’s what your Heavenly Father wants each child of His to do.
In childlike faith just know that He will take good care of you.
***
Your God says, "I will never leave, I will not part from you."
But many times your feelings say, "I don’t believe that’s true!"
But that’s the time to be a child and say, "I just believe.
Since my Dad said He’d never go, I know He did not leave."
***
The Bible says if you’re in Christ, a new creature are you.
A new creation you’ve been made, do you believe that’s true?
Oh, be childlike and just believe, though that might not seem right.
If God says that, it must be so, just live by faith, not sight.
***
To be childlike I really need renewing of my mind.
The intellect in us adults is not the childlike kind.
I need my thoughts, my "adult" thoughts, to be replaced, you see,
By childlike ones that just believe all that God says to me.
***
The more grown up you are in Christ, the more childlike you’ll be.
(Now, childishness is something else, it’s immaturity.)
Although it seems that this might be a paradox to you,
Become childlike, to be grown up, is something that is true.
***
Oh, Christian, have you lost that faith, that childlike faith you had?
Has life become so burdensome? things going really bad?
"Oh, please, restore my childlike faith," to God just humbly pray;
And walk with God just like a child--enjoy life day by day.
