God spoke to Moses in the desert, through a bush that burned.

It was on fire, yet not consumed, in God’s word, this I learned.

He saw it burning, then drew near to see the bush alight.

God’s voice spoke to him through that bush, through that great fiery sight!

It did not matter if that bush was old or big or small;

God could have used just any bush, yes, any bush at all.

A scrawny bush, a thorny bush, a bush with flowers on;

It made no difference, any bush God could have come upon.

That bush was not more valuable than others there that day,

Because God’s voice was heard through it that supernatural way.

And people who are used by God are not of more value

Than others who are not so used--please, know that this is true.

One day when Peter, James and John were with the Lord up high,

A voice came forth out of a cloud, a bright cloud in the sky:

"This One is My Beloved Son, in whom I’m pleased so well."

God’s voice said this of Jesus Christ: "Hear Him," they heard God tell.

Now there were clouds, yes, other clouds that went on floating by.

The cloud God used was just the same as others in the sky.

God could have used the other ones, they all were just the same.

Yes, any cloud could be the one through which the Lord’s voice came.

The cloud that God used to speak through high on the mount that day,

His presence was within that cloud, the one He used that way.

But it was not more valuable because God’s voice was there,

Than other clouds that drifted by that day up in the air.

***

The bush, the cloud, they had no choice, as God used them that day.

Because we humans have free choice, we each can choose God’s way.

Though willing vessels we may be, we need to see it’s true,

That God is the important One and any of us will do.

***

And God must get the glory for the things He does through you.

This lesson’s an important one: your God, give glory to.

He used a donkey to speak through way back in Bible days;

And if He uses you, you should give your Lord all the praise.

Please, don’t rejoice if you have an effective ministry.

That’s what Christ told His workers when they’d been used mightily.

"Rejoice, because in Heaven all your names are written down,"

Is what the Lord said to them as they came back into town.

We’re all important to the Lord, we’re all of value, too;

So don’t go on an ego trip if God should speak through you.

That’s not what makes you valuable, you need to see it’s true.

The reason you’re of value is that God created you!

And He showed you’re important to Him and you're of worth, too,

By paying such a great high price so He could redeem you.

While we were sinners Jesus died to take our sins away.

That should make us feel valuable on each and every day.

***

It’s any old bush, it’s any old cloud, it’s any old you or me.

The foolish, weak, base and despised God uses, don’t you see?

It is important to your God that you let Him use you;

But you are valuable to Him, no matter what you do.
