Believers have an anchor for their soul, one that will hold.

They know that Jesus died and rose and that they’re in His fold.

There’s nothing that can change these facts, they’re solid as a rock;

and that’s an anchor for all those believers in God’s flock.

No matter what is happening to God’s dear family,

it cannot change what Jesus did, that great reality.

He died, He rose, He gave to us eternal life for free.

That is an anchor and it gives us great security.

The anchor I am speaking of holds in the storms of life;

this life that oftentimes is filled with problems and with strife.

There is no other anchor, no, not person, place or thing.

Christ Jesus died and rose again--oh, what an anchoring!

Our sins Christ took away when He died there at Calvary.

That is a fact, yes, it sure is, unchangeable, you see.

Oh, what an anchor just to know our sins God blotted out;

and that Christ came alive again--that’s hope, without a doubt!

Because Christ died and rose He gives us righteousness for free.

God’s righteousness, an anchor strong, that will last permanently.

His righteousness will never change, it always stays the same.

That makes me, oh, so very glad, so glad that Jesus came.

There might not be much peace around our life on earth each day,

but yet unchanging peace dwells in our hearts and there will stay.

Because Christ died and rose again, this is reality.

Oh, such an anchor we do have, now and eternally!

So many things in life, they change, they do not stay the same:

the thinking of society; our fortune and our fame;

our weight, our looks, the place we live, they all can change with time.

But still, Christ died and rose again, an anchor, oh, so fine!

"I am the Lord and I change not," is what our God did say.

Forever Christ will be the same, today as yesterday.

A solid rock, an anchor strong, unchangeable and true.

Yes, Jesus died and rose again, an anchor just for you.

The message to believers is:Your sins are gone from you;

forgiven, righteous, now you see, unchanging treasures true.

These sure things, these unchanging facts, give you security.

Not shifting sand, but solid rock, is Christ for you and me.

A great thing happened on this earth two thousand years ago.

It’s now a part of history as all believers know.

There’s nothing that can change this fact, this fact of history:

Christ Jesus died and rose again on earth for you and me!
